Over the years, ScanoxCAD systems have been adopted by leading luxury jewelry manufacturers and major jewelry companies in France, Italy, Hong Kong, Thailand, India and the United States, including Stuller in the United States. This technology enables designers to work from an accurate digital representation of valuable gemstones while minimizing the need to transport the physical stones during the design process.

ISRAEL PATENT DISPUTE
2015
OGI Systems vs. Sarine Technologies

Israeli Patent Proceedings — Patent Application No. 138347

Opposition filed December 9, 2003 • Tel Aviv District Court proceedings through 2015

OGI opposed Sarine's Israeli patent application No. 138347 concerning laser marking based on 3D diamond mapping. The dispute reached the Tel Aviv District Court, which in 2015 returned issues and evidence for further consideration by the Israel Patent Office. OGI's position was that the narrower claims that remained did not prevent OGI from operating its own system, because OGI performed the 3D mapping and marking process using a different technical approach. A later Brussels Court of Appeal ruling, reported by Rapaport in 2023, stated that OGI's first-of-its-kind 3D rough-diamond marking system, developed and sold as early as 1999, did not infringe the Sarine patent.

In September 2015, IDEX reported that GIA selected the Titanium 5X for its diamond-synthesis research facility and quoted Daniel Benjano. According to OGI company records, GIA also purchased additional OGI laboratory systems, including the GemScribe diamond laser-inscription system and DiaPix diamond-imaging system. Together, these installations reflect a broader use of OGI technology at GIA beyond laser cutting. The Titanium 5X continues the OGI Group's long-running laser-technology development associated with the SAWCut line; the 2015 product announcement itself presents the system as OGI Titanium 5X.
